HI Everyone
Selwyn Brown has changed the course going through Feilding to eliminate two dangerous railway crossings. Also the transisition point for the Under 15 boys and girls is now outside North Street School, North Street Feilding.
Coming into Feilding now is straight down Makino Road on left of railway line. Turn left into North Street, carry on up North Street, turn left into Kimbolton Road, proceed approx 3km up Kimbolton Road till turns right towards Colyton. Race carries on, on this road till turns right onto Watershed Road down to Hiwinui then course same as previously listed
So remember for Under 15’s leaving now from outside North Street School Feilding
Closing date for entries for both WCNI Road Race and WCNI Individual time Trial is Wednesday 11th April 2012 NO LATE ENTRIES

What a brilliant day – the weather couldn’t have been kinder. The suggestion to run the club champs at this time of the year rather than the end of the year was taken on board by the events working group and the date was set. So if it seems that we have had club champs in very quick succession then you are right we have. The medals for these club champs will be awarded at the AGM on 26th April at Marist Clubrooms starting at 7pm.

All WCNI riders must hold a 2012 WCNI Centre or National licence.
Entry fees
Under 17 $15.00 Over 17 $20.00
Grades and distances
10k Under 13 Boys, Under 13 Girls
15k Under 15 Boys, Under 15 Girls, Under 17 Boys, Under 17 Girls, Under 19 Women, Masters Women 6,7, Masters Men 6,7,8.
40k Senior Men and Under 23 Men
25k Masters Women 1,2,3,4,5, Senior Women, Masters Men 1,2,3,4,5 Under 19 Men
The Course
The course starts south of Rongotea Rd on Kairanga Bunnythorpe Rd and heads along to Lockwood Rd. Depending on the age group will depend on the distance to be completed. Those riders completing the 40km distance will turn left into Hoihere Rd to the turn point. When they return to Lockwood Rd they will turn left and continue to the 2nd turn point where they will turn and head straight back to the start line.
Registration
Registration will take place at Kairanga community hall next to Kairanga School at 9am. The race briefing will be held at 9.30am and the first rider will start at 9.40am. The race organisers will publish a start list the day before the event.
Restricted Gearing
All riders in the under 13, under 15, under 17 and under 19 age groups are required to ride on the correct rollout. These will be checked by the commissaire prior to starting.
All bikes must meet Bike NZ regulations relating to time trials.
Entry fees
All entry fees must be paid before the day direct to Bike Manawatu bank account 01 0745 0284925 00 State club name in description or by cheque on the day of the event. A minimum number of entries are required to host this event. Bike Manawatu has the right one week before the event if there are insufficient entries to cancel the event.
Prizegiving
Will be held at Kairanga Community hall at the conclusion. Medals will be awarded to all WCNI riders in all age groups. The normal medal allocation will apply to each age group.

This year’s event is shaping up to be the best yet; event organisers Events Manawatu and Destination Manawatu have come up with a modified course and new innovations.
Event Director Selwyn Brown says” The day promises to be a real celebration of cycling in the Manawatu along with a Country Fare taking place in the Square, with food stalls, a live band playing all afternoon and prize giving with fabulous prises starting at the earlier time of 4.30pm.
Highlights of the day include:
1. An Elite race starting at 10.30am with and amazing prize pool of training grants, including:
· $4,000 for the first rider home
· $1000, $500, $400,5th-7th $300, 8th – 10th $250 1st under 23 rider $200 Under 19 riders $300, $200, $100.
