Jesse Sergent won the silver medal in the men’s 4000m individual pursuit at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Apeldoorn, Netherlands a repeat from his world championships performance in Copenhagen last year.
The ride off for gold was a copy of the Commonwealth Games final where he also came up against top qualifier Jack Bobridge. It was the same tactics for the slightly built Australian, who used his speed to open a telling gap of two seconds within the first kilometre. Bobridge clocked 4:21.141 to claim the title with Jesse Sergent two and a half seconds back taking the Silver medal.

Just over 40 kids took part in this years Scool Cycling Camp. This years camp venue Rathkeale College. The goal of the camp is to get some riding in, to get some extra on riding skills and to get to know each other all while having a good time.
For the riders there were two options 115 km all the way from Palmie to Rathkeale or to start at Rongomai for a 60 km trip. The 115km lot was split in two bunches one bunch escorted on the bike by Mike McRedmond, Luke McCarthy and Geoff Russell the second buch by KenYoung.

The Wednesday Night Time-Trial Series concluded this week with the final time-trial and a prize-giving at Kairanga Hall.
Alex Denholm topped the Points Table with a score of 15 out of a maximum 16. A great effort from Alex to consistently improve each week, especially given the varying wind conditions throughout the series.

Matiu Kaihau has been working towards this night. He even brought his wind trainer for the perfect warm up. And YES he took the course record from his brother Wiremu by 5 seconds. The new mens record is 0:15:21.That is more than 46.9 km per hour. Congratulations Matiu
Today was the last round to collect points. Next week final round for the season. After the ITT there will be a prize giving with some cash prizes and drinks and nibbles in the Kairanga hall.
