The Wednesday Night Time-Trial Series concluded this week with the final time-trial and a prize-giving at Kairanga Hall.
Alex Denholm topped the Points Table with a score of 15 out of a maximum 16. A great effort from Alex to consistently improve each week, especially given the varying wind conditions throughout the series.
Tom Pirie, one of BikeManawatu’s most experienced time-triallers was second, only one point behind on 14, followed by the other members of the Denholm family, James and Chris on 13 and 12 points respectively.
Tony Jones also scored 12 points. It was a really successful series, over 150 individual riders (i.e rode at least one week). The busiest night had 54 riders and 30 on average.
New course records were also set – 18mins 37sec for Jocelyn Goodwin (on 23 Feb) and 15min 21sec for Matiu Kaihau (on 16 March). Both of the previous course records had stood for over two years.
On behalf of all the riders I would like to thank the people who did the time-keeping, marshalling, sign-on and starting gate – your efforts are very much appreciated.
