Just over a week to go to the Feilding Festival of Cycling and entries are flowing in nicely.
With confirmed entry from Gordon McCauley the classic race is set to have a fine field of riders.
No late entries are accepted for the Joe Allen Memorial Handicap race so if you are plannin gon entering this make sure you get your entry in this week.
Late entry fee applies for all events except the 20km from tonight so if you want to avoid paying that extra bit then get you entry done now.
In the past we have had large numbers trying to register on the day which has caused delays so please register now.

OK, it’s an Aussie site, but it looks like magpies are just as big a problem over there as here. This site does includes NZ.
You can record the location of your experiences for others to avoid or at least be prepared.
I recorded the little bugger at Church Hill in the Pohangina valley.

For the duration of the event at Akers Rd young Luke Mudgeway, who was part of the World gold medal winning team for the madison at the World junior track champs recently held in Korea rode in the opposite direction of the race. He wasn’t a part of the race and was just happy to see everyone out there doing the laps for each grade.

In 2012, the Road Controlling Authority (RCA) Research and Guidelines Steering Group agreed to establish a national cycling signs and markings working group. This new working group convened in 2012 and its membership contained a mix of Road Controlling Authorities throughout NZ.

Council officers are now monitoring road user behaviour and are keen to hear your views and discover what you believe the new roadmarking is for. This survey is undertaken by Palmerston North City Council in conjunction with the University of Canterbury and is available online at through this link
