Coaching Survey
Thanks you to everyone who completed the survey. The questionnaire was sent to 210 BM members, with 59 responding-18 female and 41 male. Six questions were asked of the respondents. Only 5 stated that they had no interest in coaching support. Of the 5 coaching options suggested, the most popular response was for “Rider Information Presentations” with 65% wanting this option. Next was a 54% response to “Practical Group Coaching” Sessions. From the information gained we will do our best to deliver coaching support to all BM members with the resources that we have available. Currently there is a big track focus with these initiatives given this month’s start of the track season. However, we will be scheduling a number of road presentations and clinics over the coming months for BM members.

On Tuesday evening 3 weeks ago a group of people from all over the region gathered at the Hockey Turf Pavilion to learn about cycling.
The Cycling Uncovered programme is organised and run jointly by Chris Foggin of Bike NZ and Suzanne Winterburn of Sport Manawatu.
It runs for 8 weeks culminating at the end with participants entering and completing their first ever event – the Tour de Manawatu.
Over the eight weeks they are taught everything from how to change a tube if they have a puncture, nutrition when cycling, how to ride in town, coping with other traffic and how to hill climb and ride in bunches.

Just a reminder, if you are new to the track you need to attend the “Orientation” session, on Sunday, 07-Oct-2012 at 3pm, at Johnson Park, Feilding.
This session is compulsory if you plan to race.
The rules of track racing will be explained and you will have a chance to complete a few laps, be taught about the different lines on the track and different types of races.
This session will leave you feeling confident and looking forward to your first race.
Mentor/ Buddy
If you are new to the track this season, would you like a Mentor/ Buddy?
A Mentor Buddy will give you support through you first few months of club racing, answer questions or referring you to the appropriate person, observe your races, and give you positive supportive feedback so you enjoy your track racing experience.
