Trophee de vent et Grimpeur

Translation “trophy of the wind and climber”. Well that is what it will be for this year for the brave and hearty that tackled the course today.

From my vantage point at the finish line I had a lovely view after first clearing branches from the road down across the river to spy on the riders as they returned on the shortened course from Highland Home.

Track Chit Chat 3 – With Ian Gray

It was a real good days racing at the first WCNI Carnival, the renown Manawatu westerly was the only problem for the riders.

Luckily for officials and Spectators they received shelter from the wind, which made it somewhat more pleasant for them.

Thanks to all the officials that helped on the day- all did a great job!

A reminder to all riders- remember to check your track bikes every week prior to racing. On Sunday one rider turned up with no handlebar plugs which is a no-no for rider safety!! Handlebar plugs can sometimes mysteriously fall out and riders don’t notice them disappearing.

Pedal the Plateau

Dear fellow cyclists

In March of next year the inaugural Pedal the Plateau ride will take place – a 365 km recreational cycling tour of the beautiful Central Plateau region of the North Island.

We are looking to develop Pedal the Plateau into an iconic, world-famous ride, along the same lines as the famous Great Vic in Australia.

We have many Australian cyclists participating in next year’s ride, but would also like to generate some support locally.

We’re wondering if you would mind circulating this email to you members? We’d love to have more Kiwis along for the ride and perhaps some of your members or their family and friends may be interested?
