It was great to see 41 riders at this morning’s TT and Road Race at Makino Road, results can be found here: https://www.webscorer.com/race?pid=1&raceid=392435
A huge THANK YOU to the volunteers at our event: Sam Richardson, Tim Lloyd, Jo Coxon, Ross O’Dea, Charles Kerr and Bryant Havill.
Next Sunday 8th June we will not run a race. Instead we encourage schools to get together for Teams TT practice leading up to NI Schools champs in Cambridge. The following weekend 14th & 15th June will be iBuilt Tour and we’ll be racing in Halcombe on the Sunday. Registrations for Halcombe will be opening in the next few days.
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!

Sunday was truly an amazing day with 149 riders participating in this year’s Manfeild 6 Hour Cycle Challenge! Thank you to the Mainland Foundation and our sponsors for their generous financial support of this event, and to each and every one of you for supporting Arohanui Hospice and making a difference to those with life-limiting illnesses who require vital care. It was fantastic seeing both young and old supporting each other on the track and pushing through the last few hours when the wind certainly picked up. Final results are up on the 6 Hour page on our website https://bikemanawatu.co.nz/manfeild6hour/ The planning of next year’s event is underway and we can’t wait to see everyone back in 2026!
This Sunday 1st June we’re racing at Makino Road in Feilding with two options: A Time Trial (~17km) or a Handicapped Road Race (32km for A-C grade, and 17km for D grade). Registration from 8:15am, with a briefing around 8:45am. We’ll start with the Time Trial at 9am, followed by the Road Race around 9:20am. Please note that there are no bathrooms at the start area.
If you are able to help out at this event, please register as Volunteer or Mentor (supporting our Junior riders on the course), we need more volunteers to run our events! Full event details and registration:

Solid turn out to the Kairanga ITT on Mothers day. There was a 24 km option available which was contested by 4 riders with Jaro setting the bench mark of 36.29.
32 riders tackled the 12km out and back with Winston Briggs fastest on the day with a 16.49. The easterly breeze catching a few riders out on the way home.
Great to see so many families turning up and competing or volunteering, cementing the fact that cycling is a sport for all ages.
Fantastic news came from Manawatu District Council with our successful application for funding to support our Traffic Management application costs.
Every plan we submit has a price tag for processing and now , with the successful funding application done by Janina, we can now return to the $10 entry fee for all adults.
Every club is always finding ways to navigate the financial obstacles and Bums on seats as well as higher memberships are critical.
Taonui Loops on Sunday, weather is looking ok at this stage. Enter if you are available and if the race is cancelled due to weather the fee is carried over, unfortunately the TMP application is still absorbed.
Manfeild 6 hour the week after. This time next week we will be praying for fine weather
