MMCC INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL 20KM

SUNDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2010 – MMCC INDIVIDUAL TIME TRIAL 20KM

The first MMCC championship event of 2010 on Sunday 28 February 2010 was the ITT 20km on the Ashhurst – Pohangina Valley Road out and back course. Entries from club members were only 17, 2 women and 15 men, which was disappointing.

A Pleasant Ride in the Coromandel Hills…Sort of!

It is Sunday 13 December and five riders from the Manawatu (along with 50 riders from the Waikato and Auckland Region) are tackling the Waihi Midsummer Madness time trial.

Sjoerd van Wagtendonk and Luke McCarthy rode A-Grade with an impressive field of riders including Michael Torkler, Tom Findlay and Jeremy Yates. Both Sjoerd and Luke finished the 5-stage weekend, which was a great accomplishment in itself with such a big field of national riders.Matiu Kaihau

Initially I thought the stage style of ride would be out of my comfort zone as I would normally have preferred to attempt it in one stint but we both found that the stages although fast were manageable and the organisation first class.
