The ride briefing will commence at 8.45am.

The ride will commence with a neutralised lap at 9am sharp behind the lead vehicle, you are not to overtake this vehicle, this will take the first leg riders around the track in a controlled manner, as you enter the main straight the vehicle will accelerate away, this will signal the start of the race.
The last lap will be called at approximately 2.55 pm, the bell will sound, please complete your lap, that is the end of the event.

If there is an incident on the track and requires an Ambulance, the Ambulance will enter the track through the chute and travel to the scene in the same direction as the cyclists with siren on, in this instant all riders are to keep to the LEFT HAND side of the track until the Ambulance has passed, please do not draft the Ambulance.

TIMING

This year our professional timing personnel have recommended and provided us with ankle transponders which have proven to be the best change-over and accuracy for results.

Solo Riders will be provided with an ankle Transponder.

Teams will be provided 1 ankle Transponder per team and will be swapped between riders in the Transition Area like a relay.

(The transponder must be exchanged in the transition zone from one team member to the other.)

The transition area will be coned off to allow for riders to carry out their transponder transition safely.

The transponder must be on your LEFT ankle and will be swapped over from Left to Left to ensure we are not reaching across the fence or bikes. And the outgoing rider will be already on the track, lined up against the pit wall ready for the Transponder to be handed over and attached by either the rider themselves, your support person or club volunteer.

(Please note only marshals, team managers / club volunteers with a High Vis Vest will be allowed to help with transition to help riders – team managers / volunteers please come see us at the registration office to grab a high vis vest if required.)

***Your transponder MUST be worn on the left ankle with the tag facing out***

If your transponder is worn on the wrong ankle or is not facing out your lap / time will fail to read as you go past the Start / Finish line to read your lap times. It is the riders responsibility to ensure transponders are worn correctly.

processed

Ever thought of becoming a Cycling Commissaire? 2021

Ever thought of becoming a Cycling Commissaire? 2021

Ever thought of becoming a Cycling Commissaire?

Commissaires play a critical role in our sport, ensuring that cycling races are held in the best possible conditions and that races are run fairly by ensuring that the rules are uniformly applied

Cycling New Zealand have just released dates for some of their up and coming Commissaire courses being held across the country in the next few months.

These courses are designed to give a good insight into the practical application of the rules of the sport. Attending a Commissaires course is a great way to learn more about the rules of racing. Ideal for not only those who would like to attend events as a Commissaire but also for coaches, parents, teachers, riders and club administrators
