On this website is the first section honouring the great performances of Manawatu riders who have become National Champions and those who have won Silver and Bronze medals in both (hard) track and grass track N.Z. Championships.

It has been decided to publish the first section in order that it could be viewed prior to the completion of results of other sections.

Other sections getting very near completion include:

· World Championship and World Records

· N.Z. Records established by Manawatu riders

· National Championships Road and Road Time Trials

· National Hope Gibbons Team Time Trials

· N.Z. Representation by Manawatu Riders

· Successes of Manawatu Riders in Classic Tours, and Classic Road Races in New Zealand.

It has been a long project which I started in 2012 and the end is getting in sight. It will also include an introductory section.

Note: If anybody notices any omissions incorrect spelling or other errors please either contact Ian Gray by text 021 120 571 or Keryn on secretary@bikemanawatu.co.nz

2nd Long Endurance Training Ride – 12 Oct 2019

2nd Long Endurance Training Ride – 12 Oct 2019

We are less than 3 weeks out from the 2nd long endurance training ride to Pongaroa on Saturday 12 October, so it’s now time to register.

The reason that you are required to register for this ride as that we are having our lunches supplied by Bike Manawatu sponsor Rosebowl Bakery, and we need definite numbers. We are doing it this way because there has been a lot of interest in the ride, and unfortunately the pub will not be able to get us all fed and back on the road quickly. We will be stopping at the Pongaroa Domain for lunch.

The cost for the ride will be $20, and that is to cover the costs of the lunches, support vehicle and driver/mechanic. The $20 is payable to the driver on the day.

If you want to attend this ride, you must register by Wednesday 9 October as we will not be taking any registrations on the day.

We will be meeting at 7am on Saturday 12 October in the Bike Barn carpark, and you are able to put a small bag in the van with anything that you might need on the day. We will split in to groups based on ability, but everyone will be catered for. Register now by clicking the link below – we’d love to see you.
