I’m Michaela Drummond, Ex Professional Cyclist, the founder of Pedal Her Way. My journey in cycling started here in Manawatū, and over time I saw how many women wanted to not only ride, but improve and feel more confident progressing in the sport.
Pedal Her Way supports women who are looking to build confidence on the bike while also developing their riding and working toward personal goals or events. Whether that’s returning to cycling, improving fitness, or stepping into more structured training, coaching is tailored to each rider and where they’re at.
My approach focuses on building strong foundations, confidence, and consistency first then supporting women to take their riding further in a way that feels sustainable and enjoyable.
At its core, Pedal Her Way is about helping more women feel capable, supported, and confident as they progress in cycling.
If you’re interested in working with me, you can find more information on my website and book a consultation or flick me an email.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Glen Oroua for today’s road race, it was another stunning morning for riding. Massive thanks to our volunteers: Jo Coxon for running the Timing, John from Wellington on the Stop/Go paddle on the bridge, Tim Lloyd for traffic management, and Marty Baker for Sag Wagon.
It was fantastic that Brendan Bateup from Wellington RCC and Brendan Clarke from Kapiti travelled up for our event. We also applaud all the incredible families who took the opportunity and rode with their young kids, and Lizzie and Hannah Peel for looking after and encouraging other riders.

Summer has possibly come and left us. Our Track team has certainly been hampered by the changing conditions this season and the CHB tour was more of a winter tour than Mid summer event.
Last week we launched our Road Calendar for the next 5 months. Details here and on our website Calendar.
In there are events to cater for everyone with the focus being on Quality events more than cut and paste. There has been a mindful approach to linking up with other clubs and reigniting the interclub competition.
Interclub courses will be reasonable flat to allow participation across the board, then the reintroduction of WCNI championship will have a course with a bit more elevation.
Other clubs in the Lower north have been spoken to and we are hopeful they will travel and in turn we can get our own groups together and travel as well.
Later in the year we have a date for Cyclocross and will be running a few gravel events. The Joe Allen is set to make a welcome return as well.
We are light on the ground with volunteers, as a club this year is a big push to put a stake in the ground but we need support. If you are able to help out, please get in touch by email or message Tim directly.
Looking forward to A1 Loops Graded Road Race on Tuesday 24th Feb: https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=419333
Round the Mountain Classic entries close this Sunday 22nd February.

It was a beautiful summer evening yesterday for the 17 riders and our amazing volunteers at Kairanga.

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to our volunteers Sam and Laura Richardson for running the timing, Tim Lloyd for traffic management, and Alastair Cadzow, David Peel and Rachel O’Dea!
Congratulations to Liam O’Dea and Rory Hutchinson on breaking the following course records:

Liam took almost 20sec off the previous record for 14 year old boys set by Robert Stannard in 2012. Liam’s time was a blistering 17:37.6!

Rory is now the course record holder for 10 year old boys with a fantastic time of just 24:42!
It was great to see riders of all ages turn up last night. Special mention also to George Skinner who was fastest overall, Aylish Underwood who was flying on the 24km course, and new rider Jakob Abernethy who did amazing on the long course as well.
Another opportunity to race on the 12km Kairanga TT course will come up on 10th March! Mark your calendars
