Track Cycling 14th and 16th February 2012

The week saw two track nights with the Tuesday night including the Club Championships Scratch races and the Thursday night devoted to the Club Championships 500 metre standing start time trials. Tuesday was warm with a heavy threatening sky and a light North Westerly breeze. We had 18 riders across the grades, which is down on normal but the rain earlier in the day and the high risk of rain would have put a number of riders off from making the trip.

Saturday Juniors vs THE REST Trial of Saturday Morning racing

As previously advised we were going to look at a different time of day to see if that suited people better. And if we were going to have a morning race why not finish with lunch. What a good idea.

So the plan was hatched, the organising of the course was done, the helpers were sought, the lunch organised, the registrations by email were opened.

And the entries didn’t come in. So despite the poor turn out those that did arrive on time did have a good race.

Originally the riders going to do 57km were going to leave 10minutes ahead of those doing 37km, but as Mark was still doing his warmup all riders left together as one bunch.

Wednesday Time trial results week 4

It was great to have some new people helping out again this week. So first up thanks to Barrie Eccles and Dave Bleakley who took the signs out and marshalled at the turn point.

Thanks also to the helpers on the start and finish line. With out your help and support the event would not be possible.

Riders please remember to thank those valuable people who assist with the running of the event.

Postponement of next weeks time trial 22nd February  due to NZCT Womens Tour stage 1 Time trial at Massey on the same night. An extra week will be added to the end of series.
