Last year there was a lot of discussion around which cafes cyclists are and aren’t allowed to enjoy there favourite espresso at.

Notice for everyone that has previously done Wednesday night time trials at Kairanga. Please note that we will no longer be assembling at Kairanga School Hall.
We now have access to the Horizons yard opposite the start line and so this will be where the registrations are taken.
This will minimise the effect of people having to cross Rongotea Rd and allow an assembly point well off the road prior to the time trials starting.

The lights were tested and working although not needed at 10am unfortunately the power wasn’t working so the planned start for 10am was delayed for 1/2 hour until a suitable alternative was made available.
The wind was gusty and clouds loomed overhead. Visitors were popping in from the very start, staying for a short time and then departing as the next lot of spectators arrived. It isn’t often that something as gigantic as this happens on your own back door.
The officials are all in place centrefield with timing machines recording every lap.
