Road Bikes on Track

Is a great introduction to cycling, where riders can keep fit and/or bring out their competitive side in a safe, controlled environment.

Caters for: ALL ages, mainly attracting primary to high school aged people.

Equipment requirements: Any sort of bike (BMX, mountain bike or road bike) and a helmet.

Cost: Gold coin donation to contribute to spot prizes at the end of year.

BikeManawatu shows dominance at ITS track Cup

BikeManawatu have three Under 19 riders in the New Zealand team currently competing at the Adelaide Superdrome at the ITS and ANZAC Cup.

Liam Brown, Campbell Stewart and Michaela Drummond all started their track carrers racing at the Feilding track and are currently very competitive on the International stage, with Campbell winning all three of the under 19 scratch races thus far and Michaela having a win in the U19 womens race. Age Group Track National Championships Write up

Sunday the 15th of March saw the final days racing at the NZ Track Cycling Championships where Bike Manawatu Cyclists delivered outstanding results over the 5 days of racing beginning last Wednesday evening.

Michaela Drummond took out the Omnium Event in a close battle with Bryony Botha who is an under 19 Junior Worlds representative, it came down to the last event of six to decide the victor with Michaela out scoring Bryony in the points race.

Emily Shearman collected Bronze in the 500m time trial on the first night with Libby Arbuckle finishing in fourth place, the following night saw Emily Shearman ride under the NZ Record by 2 seconds in the Individual Pursuit only to have the Southland rider ride under that time to win Gold with Shearman taking Silver and Libby Arbuckle continued her form from the previous night to take the Bronze Medal.
