Received from Joe Lei at Massey University:
The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of menstrual cycle and heat tolerance in both dry and humid condition. Hopefully this study can help future kiwi athletes to quickly adapt to tropical weather in the country like Singapore or Hong Kong. The study will be divided into two parts: the first part is the submaximal and maximal test. The second part: For each menstrual phase, the participant will be doing one dry and one humid heat exposure. So, total heat exposure will be 4 in total.
Subjects will be awarded $150 in voucher to award their time and effort.

The 2015 Yunca Junior Road Tour and ILT Junior Track Carnival registrations are now open.
This year’s tour is being held Friday 2 – Sunday 4 October, followed by the Carnival on the following evenings of Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7.
The routes for this year’s Tour stages are currently under revision and will be announced soon, along with some other adjustments to the tour format.
We look forward to having your junior riders join us for another two great racing events in October and hope they can perhaps stay a while longer to join us for some fantastic action during the 2016 Oceania Track Championships, which immediately follow the Carnival from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October – so it’s going to be a monster week of racing for sure!

I have been searching for a pilot rider, someone to ride on the front of a tandem with a visually impaired lady in Palmerston North. Ideally this person would be a female that was able to ride during school hours as Sharon has a child. Sharon has her own tandem and has been inquiring for several months now at her spin class and to various friends without luck.
If you know of anyone please contact me by email, text or phone on the details below my signature.
Kind regards

Recently I received some feedback about a bunch of riders, assumed to be a BikeManawatu group.
The feedback was from a keen local cyclist who was out driving his car. As it turns out, it wasn’t a BikeManawatu group, but the points he makes are still extremely valid…
I just wanted to give you some feedback regarding the Wednesday ride that is on the BM calendar. Now I’m not sure if this is an organized ride but you seemed the best to give feedback too
I was driving to Feilding just before 10 last Wed and saw a pretty bike group 30+ riders approaching near Taonui Rd. They were traveling to Palmy and there were riders on the wrong side of the centre line. I flashed my lights to warn them as I approached and they regrouped on the correct side of the road, but group still took the whole lane.
Now I am very sympathetic to cyclists but I found this behavior pretty bad. There are road rules. There were cars approaching from behind the group and I’m unsure how those cars were affected but the whole look was not good for cyclists
