Kapiti cycling club ‘Big Day Out’

Next Sunday (25th Oct) Kapiti cycling club is doing a ‘Big Day Out’ one of our regular club activities. This time it is in the Hawkes Bay, from the coast at Kairakau to Maungatutu springs, approximately 160km.
The philosophy behind the Big Day Out is that of an ‘epic’ ride on roads club member’s aren’t likely to have travelled before, held in a light hearted atmosphere, enjoying a great day on the Bikes.

I’d like to extend a welcome to any Palmy cycling club members who would like to join us on this trip. We will be passing through palmerston north on the way at approximately 7.30am and returning at approximately 10.pm. All transport and back up is provided. We currently have about 6 seats available, and room for plenty of bikes, though we can arrange further transport if required.

For further information contact Paul Rawlinson on 021 269 8089 or spirenet@ihug.co.nz.

This is an amazing oppourtunity for all year 7 and 8 riders. All you need to do is turn up and ride as many Wednesday night time trials and track meetings (club track racing and road bikes on track count, but we will only give you points for one track event each week). If the event is cancelled by the organiser, no points will be awarded for that particular event.

So make sure you attend as many of the following dates as possible…

TT-  Wednesday 13/10, 21/10, 28/10, 4/11, 11/11, 18/11, 25/11

Track- Sunday 18/10, 25/10, 1/11, 8/11, 15/11, 22/11, 29/11

Winner will be announced at the final track meet before Christmas on 20th December 2015.

The ride and lunch will be with Robert Stannard (Junior Road World’s TT and Road race), Michaela Drummond (Junior World Team Pursuit World Champion) and Campbell Stewart (Double Junior World Champion). So don’t miss this great oppourtinity to ride and lunch with some of the best junior riders in this region!

GOOD LUCK!!

Wednesday night Time Trial series kicks off for 2015

It’s that T….T….Time of year again.

That’s right, the Bike Manawatu Wednesday night Time Trial series kicks off on Wednesday 14th October.

Register at the Horizons yard on the corner of Rongotea and Kairanga Bunnythorpe Roads at 6:00pm, first rider off at 6:30pm.

We are looking for a few people to commit to being “in charge” for a night, this would involve getting to the yard at 5:30pm to unlock, taking entries and organising the other volunteers to

cover the jobs that need doing.

We always seem to have plenty of helpers turning up on the night, but need a prior commitment from one “organiser” each week.

I will kick of the roster for the 14th Oct, but would welcome anemail ( katherine.stannard@pncc.govt.nz) if you could take it on for another night or two.

Look forward to seeing you out there.
