Huge thanks to Sam and Andy Richardson with Laura and Holly who ran the timing and results today.

Liam and Ross O’Dea, Shohn Wormgoor for marshalling, and Jonathon Hannon for SAG wagon with Phil Riley.

Highlights of the morning include Xavier Ireland winning D grade, our PNBHS lads leading home A grade, Karl McKellar winning B grade with Thomas Stannard making a welcome return.

The mentoring of junior riders by our adults is really gathering momentum to solidify our mission statement of being a family based club. Great to have John Stewart out doing this with David Peel, Paul Koot and many others.

Next Sunday 20th July we are running a ITT/TTT  out Makino Road. Jeremy Rowe set a competitive marker a few weeks ago when we added the ITT section to our Road race so the benchmark has been set.

Today was a great opportunity for our Schools teams to practice for the TTT event next weekend. We wish all Manawatu Schools riders an amazing time and experience racing against tough competition from across the North Island!

Our next event will be Cheltenham to Kimbolton on Sunday 13 July, last day of the school holidays. Details and registration link will be posted on our Facebook page and website calendar shortly.

Kairanga Mothers Day ITT

Solid turn out to the Kairanga ITT on Mothers day. There was a 24 km option available which was contested by 4 riders with Jaro setting the bench mark of 36.29.

32 riders tackled the 12km out and back with Winston Briggs fastest on the day with a 16.49. The easterly breeze catching a few riders out on the way home.

Great to see so many families turning up and competing or volunteering, cementing the fact that cycling is a sport for all ages.

Fantastic news came from Manawatu District Council with our successful application for funding to support our Traffic Management application costs.

Every plan we submit has a price tag for processing and now , with the successful funding application done by Janina, we can now return to the $10 entry fee for all adults.

Every club is always finding ways to navigate the financial obstacles and Bums on seats as well as higher memberships are critical.

Taonui Loops on Sunday, weather is looking ok at this stage. Enter if you are available and if the race is cancelled due to weather the fee is carried over, unfortunately the TMP application is still absorbed.

Manfeild 6 hour the week after. This time next week we will be praying for fine weather
