Congratulations BM racers
Congratulations BM racers
We would have to go back a long way to find Bike Manawatu, as a club, getting one up on our WCNI neighbours for an interclub trophy.
On Saturday 29th BM managed to overcome a pretty hefty points differential to come out victorious over Wanganui Cycling.
Run over a 2 race series, one at home and one away, it came down to 2 points. What’s more the small margin came down to the riders who stuck at it even when their day seemed to be over, and finished the course to claim points.
In points races like this…it’s not about the winners on the line.
58 Riders from 4 clubs over 5 grades covered the Stanway-Makino Halcombe loop on a beautiful winters morning.
Cool breeze but really ideal conditions on what is a challenging course on a good day. A great variation on grade winners form all clubs. I’m sure next year Wanganui will come back stronger than ever.
Next Sunday 14th July sees the second Flat Track race of the winter at Akers Road. Info here
We will have a 9.30am start which will allow the Memorial park groups to ride out to Linton at their normal Sunday start time, race in what ever grade they choose and either ride home for a coffee or continue on their longer ride.
In general terms A grade is around 40 km average, B grade 35, C grade 32, D grade 28, E grade >28
This race is brought to you by Hughes Joinery, Palmfeild Motors and Morgan Property Advisors.
Please register on line HERE before 3pm Saturday. It’s easier to delete starters than to add them. In saying that of course we will be accepting entries on the day.
Entry is $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non members – All welcome.
Keep warm ,ride safe

Thank you Beehive
Good Evening Track Fam,
One of the initiatives discussed at our recent Open Track Forum, was the procuring & acquisition of sponsors going forward.
We have had the extremely good fortune of Beehive donating through one of our dearly treasured Track Families a heap of sausages for fundraising & club purposes.
We are doing our best & working together to ensure the continued growth of what we believe is a pretty awesome club.
Please feel free to share any ideas you may have towards this. Kind regards

Hawke’s Bay Schools Road Champs
We would love to share something with all our respected & treasured riders, members & supporters.
Just recently 3 of our promising riders recently returned from the Hawke’s Bay Schools Road Champs.
It proved to be a very successful outing for all of these talented young men.
Harrison Craw won the Gold in the U14 Boys Division, Lochie Foote won Gold in the U15 Boys Division, & Riley Tunnicliffe won Gold in the U16 Boys Division.
Although each rider attends a different school in the Manawatu, track cycling has cemented their friendships, their contribution to our club & the respect they carry for all members, officials, & supporters is ever present. We congratulate you all gentlemen, what a stellar achievement.
