The NZ Age Group Track Nationals are being held at the Indoor Velodrome down Invercargill 5th to 8th March 2014. WCNI are looking for Managers and Handlers to be selected to help out at this event.
Also we will be needing a Manager for the Elites/U19 Track & Omnium Champs being held at the new Velodrome in Cambridge 13 to 16 March 2014.
We are very sorry that Rachael and Jeremy are unable to attend the Age Group this year as they have been such a great help to us in the past.

There will be a track meeting at Levin this coming Sunday 12th January instead of Wanganui. This track carnival will be held in memory of Wayne Foster who passed away recently.Wayne was a member of Levin Cycling Club for many years.Will advise start time shortly for Levin.
Entries, information and program for WCNI Scratch Race Titles Wanganui, WCNI Points Race Titles New Plymouth and the rest of the WCNI Track Champs being run at Wanganui will be out very shortly.
19th Jan—Wanganui is scheduled to conduct a carnival and the WCNI scratch races—-we are awaiting a list of what championship races are to be run?—this carnival starts at 1pm with registration at 12 noon——there will be a newcomers session from 10.30 to 12 noon so the carnival/championship riders wont be able to be on the track until12 noon
26th Jan—New Plymouth will conduct a carnival and WCNI points race titles starting at 11am
8th Feb—THIS IS NOW THE INTERNATIONAL NIGHT OF THE STARS—-featuring all the National squad ,World champions.Olympic medalists etc from NZ and Aust—-commences 6.30 pm—–entries to close 31st Jan .
9th Feb—-remaining WCNI championship events at Wanganui or if needed on the 16th Feb

Have you done something that is worth while sharing? Eat too much and not enough time on the bike?
This year I have not made a New Years resolution, much to the relief of everyone in our house. I did go mountain biking. Old Coach Rd from Ohakune to Horopito.
Nate Levin and Luke Mudgeway are currently battling it out at the Tour de Vineyards. Stage 2 today of the 5 stage tour. Go to Tasman Wheelers to view results.
Simon van Velthooven has been spotted at the Boxing Day races and even had his photo published in the Manawatu Standard surrounded by women.
Track carnivals continue to feature on the calendar in the build up to Centre champs and selection for track nationals.
There are still plenty of people out riding around the Manawatu which is great to see in the lead up to some road summer events.
Let me know what you got up to ( did you find a new favourite bike ride either locally, nationally or international, upgrade your bike, take up track cycling, compete in an event) and I will add to this list.

Below is a list of prizewinners for this year. Any cups that were not collected on the night have been returned to the prize cupboard.
A fun night was had by all which started with an apology of sorts from Glenys to all present for not being better organised. The many hats that are part of her life were noted.
