Are you a paid up member?

The Board has become aware that a number of riders are “ bending “ the rules in terms of Bike Manawatu membership and licences around Club organised and club sanctioned events.

Many are not signed up club members. That is not fair.

We as a Board have perhaps not been diligent enough in ensuring that for riders attending certain club events ,their membership is current.

We are attempting to encourage and to be inclusive and to that end have found sponsors to help pay for organising and running these events.eg Feilding Track Nights.

That has proved to be a popular move. But it does not dissolve the need to join the Club.

Lizzie is a champion

Lizzie is a champion

Lizzie Stannard last week headed to Aussie to compete as part of the NZ team in the Oceania Road Champs. And it was with great delight that we were informed on Saturday night by a very proud Dad that Lizzie had done it, taken out the under 19 women’s race. lizzie

In the Under-19 women’s race, New Zealand’s Elizabeth Stannard broke free from a small group inside the final kilometre to claim the junior Oceania title solo.

Stannard took out 71 kilometre race from Queensland’s Jessica Pratt and Anna Hull (NSW) who finished 5 seconds behind the kiwi.

So good to hear the Aussies say that Lizzie is a kiwi and not claim her as their own.

Congratulations Lizzie.
