BikeManawatu 2020 Membership

2020 memberships are now being issued and we’d like to make it nice and easy to allow you to renew your membership with us and support your local cycling club.
Bike Manawatu Club Memberships run from 1 January – 31 December.

If you wish to be a social member of Bike Manawatu and do not wish to race

If you wish to race formally at any level including our club races please CLICK HERE an follow this link to join via Cycling NZ.
Membership via Cycling NZ gives you the reassurance of public liability insurance as well as other great discount programmes on offer from Cycling NZ.
Your full membership can be done via this portal and at the end of the month cycling nz will transfer your club membership through to us here at Bike Manawatu. It’s nice and easy.  

We look forward to a fantastic year of cycling.

Start & Meet Bike Manawatu Timing van on Makino Road near the top of Leighbridge Street

Cyclists to assemble on verge with parking towards town against railway line.
Graded start

Entry Fee: $10 each
Registration / Sign on 10.00am – 10.30am at HQ – Bike Manawatu Timing Van
Race briefing 10.45am – all riders must attend
43km Course –  Graded
Race Start 11.00am

Distance
A Grade – 2 Laps turning for second lap Makino into Mangaone – approx 78kms
B, C, D Grades all – 1 Lap – 43.45km

A Grade – 2 laps (78km) U19 Men , U23 Men, Open Men, Masters Men 1- 2
B Grade – 1 laps (43.45km) U17 Boys, U19 Women, U23 Women, Open Women, Masters Women 1- 2, Masters Men 3 – 4
C grade – 1 laps (43.45km) U17 Girls, Masters Women 3-4, Masters Men 5-6
D grade – 1 laps (43.45km) U15 B & G, Masters Women 5-9, Masters Men 7-9

Traffic management will be in place, but this is to warn other road uses that we are there, the roads are open and riders must obey NZ road rules at ALL times.
Please be courteous to other road users

Course Notes:
0.00km Starting at the Bike Manawatu Timing van on Makino Road near the top of Leighbridge Street 
Follow Makino Road for 4.91kms
4.91km turn LEFT onto Mangaone Road
13.80km changes to Monteith Street
13.91km turn RIGHT onto Willoughby Street – Cyclists MUST give way to traffic and obey road rules
14.35km at the round about turn RIGHT onto Stanway Road – Cyclists MUST give way to traffic and obey road rules
Continue to Stanway Road 
21.61km Cyclist give way / stop to traffic, obey Marshals – Right onto Makino Road – Cyclists MUST give way to traffic and obey road rules
24.73km Left onto Short Road
28.12km Cyclists to give way / stop to traffic, obey marshals – Right onto Cheltenham Cross Road – Cyclists MUST give way to traffic and obey road rules
32.78km Cyclists to STOP, obey marshals – give way to traffic- Right onto McKays Line
35.82km Left onto Makino Road, give way to traffic – do not cross center line
40.00km A Grade ONLY – Turn LEFT into Mangaone Road to start lap 2 – All other grades continue to finish line
43.44km Finish on Makino Road at the corner of Reids Line West, at the Bike Manawatu Timing van. – for timing purposes only

Cyclists to tour back to start in Feilding
**Cyclists MUST obey NZ road rules, all roads are open to the public normal road rules apply. Cyclists must give way / stop at right turns – No crossing center lines, riding 2 abreast only – Riders who bring a volunteer / road marshal ride free.
It is extremely important all riders obey these rules**
