Manawatu’s Simon van Velthooven says his first World Cup gold medal in a keirin event has given him more confidence as he builds towards next year’s Olympics in London.
The 22-year-old was a mixture of muscle and might as he triumphed on the second night of finals at the UCI World Cup in Beijing during the weekend.
