Lizzie Stannard last week headed to Aussie to compete as part of the NZ team in the Oceania Road Champs. And it was with great delight that we were informed on Saturday night by a very proud Dad that Lizzie had done it, taken out the under 19 women’s race.
In the Under-19 women’s race, New Zealand’s Elizabeth Stannard broke free from a small group inside the final kilometre to claim the junior Oceania title solo.
Stannard took out 71 kilometre race from Queensland’s Jessica Pratt and Anna Hull (NSW) who finished 5 seconds behind the kiwi.
So good to hear the Aussies say that Lizzie is a kiwi and not claim her as their own.
Congratulations Lizzie.
