Traditionally a Handicapped road race from Ashhurst – Pohangina (totara reserve) through the gravel and back approx. 50km

Course Notes:
Course – Pohangina – towards Ashhurst – Left onto Pohangina Valley East – Highland home – Churchill Road – Gravel section – Pohangina
1 lap – approx 30km
Grades and handicaps will be determined on the day and subject to numbers
ESSEX CUP:
Start & Meet & Finish at the Pohangina Village
Entry Fee: $5 for Members $10 non members – All welcome (Only members are eligible for the trophy which will be presented at prize giving)
Sign on 2.15pm at HQ – Bike Manawatu Timing Van – Pohangina Village
Race briefing 2.45pm – all riders must attend
Graded Handicaps
40km course – 20km out and back
First grade start 3pm
Traffic management will be in place, but this is to warn other road uses that we are there, the roads are open and riders must obey NZ road rules at ALL times.
