School cycling Manawatu 2011 kicked off last Sunday 20 February. We joined the combined Bike Manawatu ride and race with the social function afterwards in the Ashhurst School Hall. This Sunday 27th of February we will be at two locations.
- young starter riders will assemble and ride / train at the Feilding Velodrome at Johnston Park in Feilding at 8.30 am for directions http://www.aatravel.co.nz/main/listing.php?listingId=82553
- the others will assemble at Memorial Park 8.30 am and go f
or a bunch ride from there. This group split in to 3 sub groups based on ability. The thought is to divide the groups in the same way as we are going to do for the ride to Rathkeale for school camp 19/20 March. Beware you have to be self sufficient for punctures.

I have read somewhere that direct marketing word-of mouth is very effective. Based on that “I heard” evidence this is a call to arms for the Palmy crack at the Mayoral Cycle Challenge. http://www.sportmanawatu.org.nz/modules/content/content.php?content.168
We need our cyclists out in force on Friday to take a ride with Mayor Jono. Not only do we want to top the regional competition but the nation.
The Womans Tour will be racing a criterium around the railway land as well as A grade, B grade and under 17’s and its a great chance to come down take a ride, grab a sausage, catch up with friends and watch some bike racing.

The question of whether our members could wear their old PN Marist uniform for the upcoming Centre Track champs in Wanganui and the road club nationals was raised.
I have contacted the technical panel at Bike NZ and they have confirmed that the old uniform can be worn in these 2 cases.
New uniform orders will be collated shortly so if you are thinking that you need new items please let me know.
