Bikebox Rentals Cycle Racing Team

Despite the current ‘cost of living challenges’ facing all community events, Bike Manawatu is 100% committed to ensuring the 51st year of the Novice Tour – once again provides a safe, fun, competitive cycle racing event.

We will adopt a high-quality assured approach in implementing the Local Roading Authority’s/Cycling New Zealand’s ‘Safe Traffic Management System’ (STMS) standards which ensure best practices and rider and spectator safety.

If the level of community funding secured is not sufficient to contract in external road management service providers with the ability to stop/go traffic, the Novice Tour will proceed on a ‘local club racing’ model, whereby our team of trained/experienced road marshals will, where necessary, pause racing in order to give way to traffic and ensure rider safety.

Although funding  external road management services with the ability to stop/go traffic is ideal, if this is not feasible – we are confident that the event’s ‘Safe Traffic Management System’ (STMS) will provide a competitive, fair, enjoyable and importantly safe racing environment.

Irrespective of which model of traffic management/racing is finalised, as with all CNZ/Bike Manawatu events, normal road rules will apply and a full rider briefing confirming the event rules will be provided to all riders prior to the start of each race.

The Bikebox Rentals Cycle Racing Team was formed last season with the goal of providing young Manawatu riders with the chance to race in the competitive Trust House North Island Elite series.

This series is a great stepping stone on from schools racing and is helping these riders develop and break into the senior ranks.

Two of the riders who have benefited from this are Madi Hartley-Brown and Dylan Simpson.

The aim for this coming season is to raise $30,000, which will allow us to take on more local riders (I have 6 more Bike Manawatu members i want to support), and to get to races such as the Tour of Southland, Dynamo Series, Trust House Series (mens and womens teams), National Champs, New Zealand Cycle Classic and our own Gravel and Tar event.

To do this i need more sponsors. Brief details of the sponsor packages available are listed below.

Joint title sponsor.

The team would be called ‘Tank Guy/ Your Business’, and you’d be listed on all results sheets, all race reports, social media and articles.
Joint title sponsors would have multiple logo’s on the most prominent places on the kit.
Title sponsors could take advantage of the Tour of Southland sponsor package, which includes banners on the finish straight, free adverts in the race program and Southland times and guaranteed TV exposure, interviews as a new team.

Co-sponsors

Co sponsors would have smaller logo’s on the kit and will be acknowledged and tagged on all social media reports.
In printed race reports we would rotate one co sponsor at a time to specifically acknowledge.
Logo’s may be seen on Tour of Southland TV interviews, but no free adverts and banners for co sponsors.

Please let Sam Gardner know if you’re interested by emailing him on sam@bikeboxrental.co.nz and he can discuss it in further detail.
