Last Sunday two track bikes to rookie riders were presented to Zoe Croton and Max Taylor. The selection panel were unanimous in the selections with each rider having being present at each meeting, presented themselves well and showed promise and determination in their riding!
The racing last Sunday was the best we have seen this season with finishes being very close in several races. It was a great finish by James Cuff to win the 4 Lap A Grade handicap and it was a photo finish when Mitchell Kinghorn just pipped Crane Groube in the final 16 lap race.
Some riders are getting out of the blocks to quickly by starting on the second whistle, not the gun and we will start asking the commissaries to watch this closely next Tuesday.
There was a real tight finish at the line in one of the eliminations in the A Grade miss and out and Mitchell Kinghorn who got in a real tight spot demonstrated good bike handling and didn’t panic and stayed upright.
Remember if you are in a tight spot hold your line and don’t panic and if riders around you do the same everyone will be safer! Bike control and safety of riders has been very good so far this season by all riders and its great to see.
The rider of the day awards for last Sunday are:
U15’s: Ethan Craine
Senior Grades: Mitchell Kinghorn
U17’s: Libby Arbuckle
Next Tuesday we will run the second round of our one lap time trial. Every rider should have an aim to beat their time, and there will be some rewards if that is achieved.
Results from the entire year (including previous 1 Lap TT times) can be found here.
STOP PRESS TRAINING SESSION
For those who are not going to the annual migration to Taupo this weekend, we will run a training session for riders at 2.30-4pm 30th November at Feilding this Sunday.
Come and learn how to start properly and do some speed work to improve your riding- especially for the new riders this season.
