10km trail run – 23km road cycle
Sunday 28 September 2014
Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre has opened up its backcountry to a new and very special event. Home to over 50 kiwi, at least 30 Kokako, and more than150 Kaka, the Breadcraft Wild Challenge is a 10km trail run through forest and bush teeming with wildlife, followed by a 23km cycle ride along country roads.
Proceeds from the event will go towards helping to restore and maintain the Pukaha forest and it’s birdlife.
Competitors will receive a free family pass to Pukaha Mount Bruce, so friends and family can explore the wildlife centre while they wait for the race to finish.
2014 Wild Challenge entrants will also go into the draw to win a chance to name and release a kiwi into the forest.
Individual entry is $50 and teams are $60. Forms available from http://www.pukaha.org.nz/sites/default/files/Wild%20Challenge%20DL-WEB.pdf
