What a morning of racing! The wind certainly tested our riders on the Glen Oroua course today, making for a challenging day out on the road. A huge well done to everyone who lined up and raced hard!
THANK YOU to our amazing volunteers who made today possible:
Ross O’Dea, Esther Hutchinson and Richard Long for marshalling
Sam and Andy Richardson for registration and timing
Tim Lloyd for course set-up and pack-down
Rachel O’Dea for the sag wagon
The highlight of the day was the incredible sportsmanship shown across all grades. Following an unfortunate crash, the men neutralised their race and only resumed once the fallen rider had been attended to. Our young female riders also showed fantastic care and camaraderie, looking out for one another and making sure nobody was alone out on the course. These moments are a great reminder that our club is about so much more than racing, it’s about being part of a fantastic cycling community.
